A Beautiful Family

I have been looking forward to this session for several weeks now – for many different reasons! Cherie contacted me and reminded me that our families used to go “muddin” (and “snowin” I think!) together in the mountains in our jeeps when we were younger. She mentioned that her kids were very young the last time they did family pics so she wanted some of those but she also wanted some shots of her teenaged children and as much as I love babies and toddles, teenagers are tons of fun to work with!! Here is a shot of their beautiful family all together:

And the beautiful kids:

Madison:

And Lane, who is a senior this year at North Oconee High School. I will admit, I was a little worried about what I was going to do w/a senior guy at Founder’s Gardens, but I think everything turned out A-OK. What do you think?

Thank you guys for braving the heat and the dreaded Founder’s Gardens’ mosquitoes!!! I really enjoyed it and hope you did too!!

Greyson and Family

Tonight I had a great time with Greyson and his mommy and daddy at Founder’s Gardens. He is getting SO big, crawling all over and getting very close to walking too (look out mama and daddy!). I love the shots I got of him, I have been going through and I think I have all of the ones I want to preview, then I find another and think “aw, that is too cute” and pick it too!! I somehow narrowed it down to 5 but his mommy and daddy will most likely be getting plenty way more than that to pick from in the next week or so!!! I had a great time you guys and hope you all cooled off and that the mosquitoes didn’t do too much damage!!

The kids all tell me they LOVE to shoot at Founder’s! Something about the free snacks…

Lance – A Little Hero

If  you’ve been following my blog for awhile you may remember THIS post about an organization called The Littlest Heroes Project. Well tonight I had the honor of shooting my first session for LHP! Today I met a wonderful family with an amazing little boy named Lance. No one can tell you about Lance as well as someone who is very close to him so I will give you a little “Cliff Notes” version of his story as told by him mom in his LHP application. You can also read more about Lance’s journey on his website: http://www.cotaforlancew.com/

“Our son Lance was born 7-14-2003 with hypoplastic right heart ventricle, ASD,VSD. At the age of 6 months he had his first open heart surgery. We then had a somewhat calm 5 years. We had doctors appointments but we lived a normal life. Then Dec 2008 Lance started getting sicker.

We scheduled his second Heart surgery and he had this surgery in April 2009. After this surgery his heart function went down hill and his kidneys shut down. The doctors tried everything, but after 2 months it became apparent he needed a new heart

After we got over the shock he was listed ,and five days later received his miracle heart. He was in the hospital 3 months, and it was a very scary time for us all. He came home in August 2009 and he was still very weak, but with time and love he is now thriving.

He does have a lifetime of care and statics say that there will be future transplants. We are staying optimistic and with prayer and medical research we focus on the positive. He is about to be 7 and is now playing baseball and a fearless base runner. We are so Thankful to the donor family that gave so many people a second chance.

Check out this “fearless base runner”…

He has an amazing family to back him up!

This is big brother Emory. He was happy to make sure I was well versed in the art of buying Silly Banz…

Obviously this family has been through A LOT! But their love and support for, not just Lance but each other was apparent and heck, the fact that they hung out with me for an hour and a half in the Georgia summer heat and humidity says a ton about their spirit and resolve! Lance is obviously doing great right now but I’m sure they would appreciate if you’d send up a prayer for him, next time you are sending them up! One of his interview questions was “if you could have one wish what would it be” and he said “to stay out of the hospital”! That says it all right there.

So Lance, (and family), may God bless you and lift you up! I sincerely hope to see you all again sometime!

Brooklynn

What a neat family! I’m so honored to have met them today and been given the opportunity to photograph adorable Miss Brooklynn! This family is related to one of the entries from my fresh faces contest so I’m so glad to know that experience has brought one more sweet family into my life! Brooklynn is adorable at 11 months old. She was made for the camera – she wasn’t shy at all and as you can see, was full of smiles and thoughtful expressions. Here is a little preview for her family – I will have the rest ready for you to see as soon as possible!

Happy Memorial Day everyone!!! God Bless the USA!!!!

Karley – Senior Spokes Model – Oglethorpe County High School

Meet Karley! She is my 2010/2011 Senior Spokes Model for Oglethorpe County High School! We met up at the Founder’s Gardens yesterday evening to shoot her 1st session. We’ll have some fun in the studio later this summer. I’ve known Karley her whole life (man, that makes me feel old!) and was honored to shoot her Senior pics!! If you are an Oglethorpe County High School junior or if you just know Karley, ask her for a rep card that will give you some great discounts when you hold your senior session with me!

Harper is Turning One!

If you’re Facebook friends with me, you read that I had a run on one year old’s this weekend. If you aren’t Facebook friends with me, well then why the heck not?!? Look me up - Sue Ann Holland!

Sweet little Harper will be one next month. I first met her as a tiny baby, and then again right before Christmas.  Every time, I tell myself, “she can not get any cuter! She just can not”. But ohmygosh! Yes she can!!!!! She is just adorable with her little wavy hair and too cute personality. She is going to have the fellows knocking down her door one day. But until then, I guess she can just enjoy being a one year old and all of the awesomeness that goes along with that!!!

Happy birthday Harper!!

Seth and Morgan – Engaged

I’m so excited to be shooting Seth and Morgan’s wedding later this year. They are the best kind of couple to help break me into this new realm of my business – sweet, laid back, up for anything…  Morgan is going to make a beautiful bride and I can’t wait for their August wedding! Tonight we got together on the UGA campus and wandered around and got some fun shots. Here is a little preview to tide them over til I can get the rest of them edited.

This one is a little different from my “norm” but I kind of like the way it turned out.

Merry Christmas!

I would like to personally wish each and every one of you a VERY Merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous 2010!! Thank you for all you have done for my business in 2009. It’s your happiness and joy over the ways I have captured your memories that keeps me going and I am truly blessed to have clients/friends/blog readers like you!! May God bless you! From my family…

Avery ~ 7 months

Tonight I was blessed to meet sweet Avery and her sweet mommy. What a wonderfully laid back and happy baby she is! We changed her clothes, pushed her past her supper time, fed her to the mosquitoes (seriously people, what’s up with those on the 1st of Nov??) and she didn’t so much as whimper. What an awesome baby! Her mama is truly blessed to have such a sweet and beautiful little girl. I hope you guys like the sneak peek! She is way too precious!!

And a shout out to Rebecca at The Natural Baby in Watkinsville. Avery’s mommy saw my work there and looked me up. Thank you again for letting me have my display in your store!
